Bailey Peacock-Farrell has sent a message of thanks to Leeds United fans after sealing a move to Burnley.

The 22-year-old joined the Clarets today in a deal worth £2.5 million and signed a four-year deal at Turf Moor.

Peacock-Farrell started last season as Marcelo Bielsa’s number one but was displaced in the side after the arrival of Kiko Casilla in January.

Following the completion of his move, the shot-stopper took to Twitter to send a final message to Whites fans.

The Northern Irishman said being given the Leeds number one shirt had been “a massive honour” and that he would be "forever grateful".

He thanked everyone who has been at the club during his six-year stay, as well as specifically highlighting Victor Orta, the backroom team, his goalkeeping coaches, and the players he had played with.

Peacock-Farrell also praised the fans, adding: “You are what makes the club so special, your support is incredible”.

The Northern Ireland international joined from Middlesbrough as a 17-year-old and went on to make 41 appearances for the club.

The Verdict

Despite featuring just once after losing his place in the side to Casilla in January, it seems Peacock-Farrell reflects positively on his time at the club.

The 22-year-old is the latest on a long list of young players to leave Elland Road this summer, most notably Jack Clarke, Aapo Halme, and Mallik Wilks.

It is interesting to note that he has named checked Victor Orta specifically but there is no mention of Marcelo Bielsa in his thank you message – perhaps the goalkeeper has not quite forgiven him for being replaced yet.
