Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that both Billy Sharp and Chris Basham will miss both games over the Easter weekend.

The Blades are due to face Nottingham Forest at Bramall Lane on Friday, before travelling to the KCOM Stadium to face Hull City on Monday, as they look to keep the pressure on Leeds United in the Championship promotion race.

Both players were substituted in the draw with Millwall at the weekend with hamstring injuries, as the Blades' automatic promotion hopes suffered a blow.

Wilder has now confirmed that both players will not take part in Bank Holiday games, with James Shield, a journalist for the Sheffield Star, confirming the news on Twitter.

Sheffield United are currently third in the Championship table, three points behind second-placed Leeds, with just four matches to play.

After the weekend, the Blades face already-relegated Ipswich Town at home before travelling to Stoke City on the final day of the season.

The Verdict:

This is a major blow for Sheffield United. Both Sharp and Basham have been highly-influential for the Blades this season and will both be a big miss for the upcoming games.

The team cannot afford any more slip-ups in the promotion race and there is now even more pressure on the players to deliver a result.

Wilder and Sheffield United fans will be hoping that both players can return for the final two matches, as the Blades continue their promotion push.
