Bad news: Zola issues injury update with Birmingham star set to miss tomorrow’s match

Birmingham City will be without defender Cheick Keita for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Cardiff City, Gianfranco Zola has confirmed via the club’s official Twitter account.

Zola also revealed that Clayton Donaldson will miss the game through injury as he continues to recover from an injury sustained before the new year.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the crucial Championship trip to Cardiff City tomorrow, Zola gave fans an injury update.

Birmingham’s abysmal form over the past few months has seen them plummet down the table and any dreams of reaching a play-off spot have turned into nightmares of relegation.

Eight points separate the Blues from the drop zone but their terrible form is a cause for concern.

And now they have been hit with another blow as Cheick Keita, who has been a standout performer in recent weeks, is set to miss the game with a knee problem.

However, Zola did reveal that Keita’s injury would rule him out for “not too long”, according to the club’s Twitter account.

Birmingham fans – what do you make of this news? Is this a big blow? How can you cope without Keita? Let us know in the comments below…
