Kieffer Moore starred as Wigan Athletic recorded another vital win when they overcame Reading 3-0 away from home, as Moore scored an emphatic opening goal to put the Latics on their way.

Wigan came into this game looking to close the gap even further to safety as they recorded an all-important win over Millwall at the weekend, meaning they could draw level on points with Middlesbrough if they overcame Reading.

Paul Cook’s side started very well and were rewarded in their efforts as Jamal Lowe’s low cross found Kieffer Moore around eight yards out and in front of the near post, to which he smartly backheeled the ball into the far corner to give the away side the lead.

It was the second time in three games that Moore had scored a goal of that ilk after his opener against Cardiff City striking a very similar resemblance.

The away side went onto to score two more classy goals in the second half via Jamal Lowe and Michael Jacobs to seal a win that puts Wigan extremely close to safety with 11 games left to play.

Moore has stepped up to the plate in recent weeks after Wigan’s January departures saw them turn to the Welsh international as their focal point, and it has worked to marvellous effect.

Fans were keen to outline just how well Moore played in the match, with his goal taking the vast majority of the plaudits…

Do you know where these Wigan players signed from?
