The Owls knew they needed to pick up maximum points as a gap had built up between themselves and 21st position. Plus, the pressure was building on boss Tony Pulis as he had failed to win since succeeding Garry Monk as the Wednesday boss.
So, it was a huge game for the Yorkshire outfit and defender Tom Lees made the difference.
As well as putting in a commanding display at centre-back, which helped Wednesday to a clean sheet, he also popped up with the only goal of the game.
It’s fair to say that the former Leeds man hasn’t been at his best for the Owls this season, but that performance was much more like what the defender is all about.
So, the fans were very pleased with his contribution and here we look at some of the comments from Twitter…
Look how much that means to him! Get in there lad!

Happy for him, he's had his bad games but for a player that cost nothing he's solid on his day
