Cast your minds back to 14th June 2016 Barnsley supporters, because this is sure to be a memorable date for many of the Oakwell faithful. 

It was the day that midfielder, Adam Hammill penned a new two-year-deal with the club, which was a development that certainly went down well with supporters.

This was Hammill's second spell at Oakwell, and he was a firm fans favourite when he arrived at the club, and it came as no surprise to see this news go down well with supporters at the time.

Hammill picked up the Player of the Season award just a couple of months earlier to this contract extension, and he was a crucial member of the Barnsley squad that won promotion to the Championship via the Play-Offs.

He also scored the Tykes' third goal in the 3-1 win over Millwall at Wembley which clinched promotion on the day.

Hammill went on to make 115 appearances in total for Barnsley in his second-spell, before being released by the club when his contract expired at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

He then moved to Scottish side, St Mirren before returning to English football this season, where he now plays for Scunthorpe United in League One.

Hammill is a player that will remain in the hearts of Barnsley supporters for a lifetime, and you never know, he could return to the club for one final time before his playing career is out.
