Atdhe Nuhiu is highly regarded by Sheffield Wednesday fans, however not for his quality on the pitch.

The "fan favourite", has spent 4 years at Hillsborough, and has made 130 appearances for the Owls in which he has netted 19 times.

However, the 27-year old has recently gone down the pecking order for strikers, behind the likes of Gary Hooper, Fernando Forestieri, and Steven Fletcher, and game time is very limited for the Austrian.

Wednesday sit 9th in the league table, after 7 wins, 4 draws, and 6 defeats, however Carlos Carvalhal will be somewhat disappointed with his side's position in the table, after coming agonisingly close to promotion last term.

With the January transfer window looming, Carvalhal needs to get rid of the deadwood and bring in fresh, ne wtalent who will galvanise a serious promotion push.

Therefore here, we take a look at TWO players who need to follow Atdhe Nuhiu out of Sheffield Wednesday..

Fernando Forestieri

The Italian has failed to replicate the form he displayed last term, where he scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Owls.

Unrest at the start of the season between him and Carvalhal after allegedly refusing to play for the Yorkshire side against Norwich City, has really put a dampener on his performances this season.

Derby County and Newcastle United were both willing to pay over £10million for the 26-year old in the summer, and if they come knocking again in January, the Owls may have to let the forward go.

Lewis McGugan

After two loan spells at Hillsborough, McGugan penned a permanent deal with the Owls in July 2015, and has made a total of 34 appearances for the club.

However, an increase in competition from the likes of Almen Abdi and Barry Bannan has pushed the 28-year old out of the side, and has led to him being put on the transfer list.

McGugan is definitely Championship quality, but on a probably high wage, Carvalhal needs to let the midfielder leave, in order to strengthen his team...
