Wolves are now without a win in five matches at the time of writing and slowly but surely, the pressure is beginning to build on manager Paul Lambert.

Things have been tough-going for the Midlanders all season and even the mid-season change in management hasn't reaped any particular reward when it's come to climbing the table.

Lambert hasn't had the sort of effect as might have been hoped and going forward, things are looking tougher and tougher for a side that failed to even beat Birmingham, who are doing dreadfully themselves.

But it's not the first time we've seen Wolves players under-perform and if we roll back the years, it's safe to say there have been some pretty below-par signings down at Molineux.

With the current first-team struggling, we want to open the vault and take a look at some of the most disappointing players we've seen at Molineux over the past decade.

So with that in mind, here's our worst Wolves XI from the past 10 years- what are your thoughts?

GK: Aaron McCarey

Signed as a youngster back in 2010, Aaron McCarey managed just five senior appearances before being sold to Ross County last summer.

He made a whole host of loan moves during his time at the club but never managed to break into the first-team under the array of managers that have come and gone at the club.

RB: Jamie Reckord

Naturally, if you never make an appearance for a club then it's obvious that you're going to be included in some sort of worst XI somewhere down the line and that's certainly the case for Jamie Reckford.

Despite making various loan moves and appearing for the England U16 and U17 sides, he never forced his way into the first-team and is currently playing his football with Oldham, despite spending four years with Wolves between 2010-2014.

CB: Georg Margreitter

Whilst he's name cannily reminds most football fans of a certain type of cheese pizza, Georg Margreitter's £500,000 Wolves career amounted to just one league appearance.

He was one of Stale Solbakken's signings and one that didn't last long at all.

He currently plays his football for Nurnberg in Germany.

CB: Steven Mouyokolo

Some footballers struggle badly with injuries and £2.5million signing Steven Mouyokolo is certainly one of them, who had his time as a professional footballer cut short by them over the years.

He signed for Wolves back in 2010 but long-term injuries saw him make just four appearances in three years. He went onto join Sochaux and Celtic but hasn't been with a club since the end of the 2014 season, despite being just 30 years old.

LB: Jérémy Hélan

Arguably one of the strangest footballers to have ever graced Molineux, there was actually little that Jérémy Hélan did wrong during his time at the club.

He played a handful of times whilst on-loan there last season but retired at just 24 to focus on a religion away from football. A shame because he had some decent outings for Wolves.

RM: Razak Boukari

Plenty was hoped when Razak Boukari made the move to Molineux in 2012 but four years down the line, he'd turned out just four times for the first-team.

Injuries played their part in his struggles to get in the first-team but at times, you could tell he just didn't have the final product to make it at this level.

He's currently playing for Châteauroux in the third tier of French football.

CM: Prince Oniangué

Plenty of Wolves fans were excited this summer when a certain "Prince" was linked with a move to the club but unfortunately for Prince Oniangué, he didn't last at all long under new manager Paul Lambert.

He was quickly shipped out to Bastia on-loan, despite looking like a very decent player when he joined the club this summer.

Will he return and get back into the first-team? Probably unlikely and if not, he could go down as one of the worst signings in the club's history.

CM: Lewis Gobern

Another player that fell victim to a nasty injury during his time at Molineux was Lewis Gobern, who had been tipped to be a real star having come through the club's academy as a junior.

But when he did get to the first-team, he suffered two hamstring injuries followed by a long-term knee injury. He lost all his form and didn't play upon his return.

He retired aged 26.

LM: Freddy Eastwood

Freddy Eastwood was often a player who failed to deliver when given a shot on the big stage, and that was certainly the case when he moved to Wolves in July 2007 for around £1.5million.

He started well but his goals quickly dried up and he dropped down the pecking order with remarkable speed. He finished the campaign with just 3 league goals in 35 appearances and left after just one season.

He didn't fit into Mick McCarthy's side in the slightest and is one of the most underwhelming signings of the last ten years.

ST: Stefan Maierhofer

Plenty was expected when burly striker Stefan Maierhofer joined Wolves back in 2009, for a rumoured fee of around £1.8million. It was a hefty amount for the Midlands-based side to fork out for a widely unknown forward and how bad he was too.

He scored on his debut- a 3-1 defeat to Blackburn but after that, his career nosedived. He suffered a long-term hernia injury which left him on the sidelines for months but he never recovered and scored just one goal in two years at the club. Poor stuff indeed.

ST: Marlon Harewood

Football League journeyman Marlon Harewood spent time with Wolves towards the end of the 2008-2009 campaign and he was often branded as one of the worst strikers fans had ever seen at the club.

Lazy, unwilling and at times, bone idle, the former Villa man failed to score any goals for Wolves before returning to Villa Park at the end of the season.

Forgettable to say the very least.
