Middlesbrough have today completed the signing of goalkeeper Jordan Archer from Motherwell, with the 27-year-old coming in to provide competition for first choice shot stopper Marcus Bettinelli.
An experienced player at Football League level, Archer has previously turned out for the likes of Millwall, Oxford United and Fulham in more recent times and will be an adequate replacement on paper for the departed Dejan Stojanovic.
This comes as Neil Warnock’s first January signing of a window in which Boro are expected to be busy as they seek to continue with their promotion bid into the second half of the campaign.
Archer has signed a deal which ties him to the North East club until the end of the current season.
