‘Awful decision,’ ‘This leaves us massively short!’ – Plenty of Blackburn fans left furious by latest announcement

Blackburn Rovers have announced that defender, Paul Downing has joined Doncaster Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season.

It will come as no surprise to see Downing heading out on loan, as he has only made three appearances in the Championship in this years campaign.

But he has been unlucky not to have featured more in Tony Mowbray’s starting XI, as Blackburn mount an unlikely play-off charge.

Downing played a pivotal role in Blackburn’s promotion from League One, and went on to make 26 league appearances for Rovers as they gained promotion to the Championship.

But having struggled for game time this season with Rovers, it’s surely the best move for both parties involved as he looks to find regular first-team football in League One.

Many Blackburn supporters have weighed in with their verdict on this latest news.
