Sunderland have confirmed the sale of midfielder Dylan McGeouch to Aberdeen on a permanent deal.

McGeouch joined Sunderland from Aberdeen's Scottish Premier League rivals Hibernian back in the summer of 2018, and has since gone on to make a total of 42 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats.

The midfielder has now signed a two and a half year deal with Aberdeen, which is set to keep him at Pittodrie until the end of the 2021/22 season at least.

McGeouch leaves Sunderland with the club ninth in the current League One standings, having narrowly missed out an immediate promotion back to the Championship via the play-offs last season.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of McGeouch's departure, it appears as though opinion is split amongst plenty of Sunderland fans, over whether or not the club have made the right decision in allowing the 26-year-old to leave the Stadium of Light.

Here, we take a look at what some of those fans had to say.
