Aston Villa extended their unbeaten run with a 2-2 home draw against Stoke City at the weekend, as their assault on the playoff positions took a slight hit.

It was bound to be a tough afternoon in store for the Villans - Gary Rowett’s Potters had gone unbeaten in their eight league games and were looking to kick on after what has been a disappointing campaign for the Staffordshire club.

The second-half is where the action came alive - Joe Allen's 47th minute strike put the Potters ahead, before Tammy Abraham levelled the scores from the penalty spot. Benik Afobe then put Stoke ahead once more from the spot, but then substitute Jonathan Kodjia salvaged a late draw for Villa.
