Egypt booked their place at Russia 2018 with a last-gasp win over Congo thanks to Liverpool's Mo Salah.

The hosts needed to win and lead until an 88th minute equaliser from the visitors. However, a stoppage time penalty from Salah won Egypt the game and sparked wild celebrations.

Wigan Athletics's Sam Morsy was an unused substitute last night, but is likely to be called up next year and took to Twitter to express his delight.

It's the first time since 1990 that Egypt have qualified for a World Cup and will undoubtedly be the biggest moment of Morsy's career.

The ex-Chesterfield man has two caps to his name, making his debut in August last year.

After his tweet, many responded with messages of congratulations and support, including the official Wigan Athletic account.
