Attacking ace reveals Liverpool transfer regret

Brentford have struggled in recent weeks in the Sky Bet Championship and Thomas Frank will know that things need to pick up sooner rather than later.

The Bees have been unlucky in the sense that they have once again seen a key figure in Dean Smith leave and so far Frank has not been able to keep up his good work.

He’ll be looking for that to change, then, and one player who has the capability to help that happen is Sergi Canos.

The attacking player has been in this country a few years now after signing for Liverpool and also playing for Norwich.

He seems most settled at the Bees, though, and has revealed that early on in England he regretted his move to the Merseyside club – before enjoying it.

Speaking to iNews, he said:

“I wouldn’t change anything in my life, anything, but I did regret the first six months at Liverpool. ‘Why? Why did I come here?!’.

“But now, I am so glad. Liverpool made me into a man and showed me what football was.”

The Verdict

Canos is a bright talent and you can see why Liverpool took him in.

He didn’t eventually make the Reds’ first team, of course, but he is now at Griffin Park with the potential to be a fine player at second-tier level at the very least.

With the Bees at the wrong end of the table, though, it is clear that he and the rest of the team need to roll their sleeves up.
