It’s crunch time for Birmingham City and Garry Monk in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Blues looking to pull clear of the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

Since Monk’s arrival, things have improved at St Andrew’s and Birmingham have seemingly been on the rise.

However, back-to-back defeats have hauled the Blues back into trouble, with Monk’s side now sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Birmingham have three fixtures remaining this season, but worryingly for them, Barnsley, the side occupying the third relegation place, have a game in-hand.

This weekend, Monk’s side entertain Sheffield United, who are battling for three points, but for very different reasons, with the play-offs their aim during the run-in.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Birmingham’s squad, selecting the starting XI we think Monk should turn to, with the hope they can pick up a crucial three points…

Stockdale should continue in goal for Monk’s side against the Blades.

Harding has been good at right-back, with Monk having plenty of faith in the 21-year-old.

Morrison is likely to captain Birmingham for central defence.

Harlee Dean’s suspension means that Roberts is likely to start this weekend.

Colin moves to left-back in place of Jonathan Grounds.

Jota will be key for Birmingham this weekend, with Monk looking for a key performance from his playmaker.

Davis’ experience will be key in the coming weeks and he should start at St Andrew’s this weekend.

Kieftenbeld should start against the Blades alongside Davis. The midfield duo will have a tough afternoon against the likes of Lee Evans and John Fleck.

Maghoma should start this weekend, coming back into the side to give Monk’s side more attacking intent.

Adams is returning from suspension and should come straight back into the starting XI against his former side.

Jutkiewicz should feature again from the start, despite Sam Gallagher’s return from injury.
