Izzy Brown hasn't had the best time of it during his professional career so far, having been on loan at different clubs in the Football League from Premier League giants Chelsea.

Being at the age of 22 now, Brown's time with Chelsea is surely coming to an end as the forward's chances of breaking in at Stamford Bridge looks increasingly bleak for the England youth international. However, Brown's loan at Luton could provide the forward with one last chance in the Frank Lampard regime in Chelsea.

However, that last chance saloon with the Blues is unlikely to come while Brown is being used as a winger and not getting an opportunity in his favoured position as the striker or chief attacking midfielder. Chelsea have plenty of choices in the wide areas with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian, Pedro and Christian Pulisic capable of all operating on the flanks at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, through the middle, Chelsea's only other options are Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi whilst in behind it's Mason Mount and few else really shining.

Giroud has only just turned 33 and is coming towards the end of his career as a bench option with Chelsea, so therefore there is a chance for someone, possibly from the academy, to push through at Chelsea and claim a backup spot within the squad.

Chelsea legend Lampard is looking towards the academy this season as giving the likes of Abraham, Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomoro has paid off so far despite Chelsea having a transfer embargo hanging over their heads, and Brown will see the current circumstance at Stamford Bridge as the right opportunity he could have this season to make his mark, just like Abraham did with promoted Aston Villa last season as he netted goal after goal for the Villans.

However, Brown's problem is that he isn't getting a shot through the middle at Luton, and is regularly being shifted out wide to accommodate others. Brown will definitely feel that he can do an adequate job through the middle of the Luton spine and supply them with the goals and the assists to help solidify Graeme Jones' side in the Championship, but Brown will be feeling that if he continues to operate out wide for the Hatters, then his chances of making it at Chelsea are over.
