Arsenal have reportedly signed 16-year-old West Bromwich Albion left-back Lino Da Cruz Sousa, which has drawn a frustrated reaction from fans of the Championship club.

Seeing their academy talent poached by bigger clubs has become an all too regular occurrence for the Baggies in recent years and it seems Sousa has followed in the footsteps of high profile names Louie Barry and Morgan Rogers.

According to football.london, the teenager has left Albion to join the Gunners on a permanent deal.

Arsenal academy chief Per Mertesacker is said to have been keen to strengthen at left-back and it seems that search led him to the Baggies prospect.

The report claims that Sousa has already trained with his new teammates and is recognised by many at the Premier League club as a player with a very bright future.

The defender turns 17 later this month but was a regular for Albion's U18s last season and even featured in Premier League 2 for the U23s.
