Blackpool have confirmed the loan signing of midfielder Connor Ronan from Premier League side Wolves for the rest of the season.

The Tangerines are having a very successful January window with Simon Grayson already adding in four names from defence to attack to help a push for the play-offs in the second half of the season.

They have made their fifth new signing of the window by bringing in Wolves midfielder Connor Ronan on-loan for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old spent the back end of last season and the first half of this term on-loan at Slovakian side Dunajska Streda before returning to his parent club for the New Year.

Having spent time on loan at both Portsmouth and Walsall in League One, Ronan is no stranger to the division and he will be keen to hit the ground running in Grayson’s side for the remainder of the season.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Simon Grayson was delighted to have confirmed Ronan’s move to Blackpool this month, where he stated: “Connor’s an exciting player and the type of player that we’ve been missing this season.

“A lot of people speak highly about him and he’s had some good experience out in Slovakia, as well as internationally for Ireland at under-21 level.

“We’re looking for him to get on the ball, pick a pass and add something different to the squad.”

Ronan also spoke to the club website about what he is wanting to bring to the side for this half of the season, where he stated: “I like to get on the ball and try and make things happen. I’ll take risks in the opposite half, try and get a few assists and chip in with a few goals.

“All in all, I just want to help the team wherever I can and try and help the team get back to where it belongs.”
