Reports from the Express and Star have revealed that Robert Snodgrass is confident that Steve Bruce is the manager to get the best out of him.

The 29-year-old, who became Aston Villa’s final signing of the summer transfer window when he joined on a season long loan, has previously worked with the veteran manager during his time at Hull.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Snodgrass said:

“I know myself that when there is a manager that knows how to get the best out of you then it’s different, and that’s why I chose Villa. I wanted to work with Steve Bruce again”

The Villains are currently occupying 18th place in the Championship table with just one win from their opening five games.

Snodgrass, who only joined parent club West Ham in January, is expected to make his debut when Villa host Brentford at Villa Park this Saturday.

The Verdict

It can definitely be argued that Snodgrass’ best years were during his time at Hull.

He won promotion to the Premier League alongside Steve Bruce and if Bruce can get the best out of him, then there is no reason why Villa can’t push on and achieve that same goal in the next few years.

Snodgrass has proven time and time again that he is a quality player and having spent most of his career in the Championship, he will feel right at home on his debut.
