Aston Villa are being linked with a move for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez again in January after the deal failed to materialise in the summer.

The Uruguayan striker would be reunited with his former Hull City boss Steve Bruce and that is apparently a big factor in his mind as he tries to push through a move to Villa Park.

Abel Hernandez hit 20 goals in the Championship last year so he knows where the net is at this level and he'd be a shrewd signing for the Villains.

The former Palermo front man would add quality to the Aston Villa strikeforce and probably force the sale of one of Ross McCormack, Jordan Ayew or Rudy Gestede.

Nonetheless Aston Villa's attacking options look potent and dangerous if the 26-year-old joins.

Here is how they could line up in an attacking quartet if Hernandez makes the switch from Hull to Aston Villa in January.

RW: Albert Adomah

Ghanaian winger Albert Adomah will miss a spell in January due to his commitments to his country's African Cup of Nations campaign but will return straight to the starting line-up when he's back.

The 28-year-old joined from Middlesbrough last year and he has vast knowledge of the second tier from his spells with the likes of Bristol City and Boro.

The tricky winger can deliver a great cross and has an eye for goal too.

ST: Abel Hernandez

Abel Hernandez would probably slot into the Villa starting XI in a 4-4-2 formation ahead of Ayew, McCormack and Gestede.

The Uruguayan international hit 20 league goals last year and would be lethal up front for Villa with the right service.

Hernandez is almost guaranteed to get the goals to fire Bruce's side up the league and push for promotion back to the top flight.

ST: Jonathan Kodjia

Jonathan Kodjia would be the perfect partner for Abel Hernandez and a vital focal point for Aston Villa's attacks.

The 27-year-old is a big, strong, quick centre forward who is replicating the form he showed in his debut season in England last year for Bristol City when he netted 18 league goals.

The Ivory Coast international already has 6 goals and an assist so far this season in the Championship and he is looking sharper and more deadly each game.

LW: Jack Grealish

The controversial winger Jack Grealish is finally starting to let his football do the talking on the pitch.

The 21-year-old has the pace, agility and skill-set to jink past defenders with ease, whip quality balls into the box and go for goal himself.

Aston Villa will be expecting big things from their local boy, who is also performing well for the England under-21 side at the moment.
