As always in the Sky Bet Championship there are sides absolutely flying and others struggling, whilst those expected to do well have ultimately underwhelmed.

Stoke City are perhaps the best example of the latter, whilst Aston Villa haven’t hit the heights many expected.

On the whole, there have been a number of players who have underwhelmed this season, and, here at FLW, we take a look at the biggest flop Championship XI so far:

Orjan Nyland is an automatic pick as our goalkeeper, with the Norwegian seriously unconvincing during his spell as Aston Villa’s No.1.

Ahead of him we’ve opted for three central defenders who haven’t impressed us for various reasons.

Ashley Williams should’ve been an experienced head guiding Stoke on their return to the Championship, but he’s been anything but that, whilst Kyle Bartley’s move to West Brom just isn’t working out. They are joined by Matthew Pennington, who isn’t showing any signs of improving at struggling Ipswich Town.

Our central midfield is made up of two Premier League loanees, with Josh Onomah in uninspiring form for Sheffield Wednesday, whilst Lewis Baker never made the grade at Leeds United and is struggling at Reading.

James McClean hasn’t impressed since switching West Brom for Stoke, so takes a place on the left, whilst Yannick Bolasie never found his best during his short spell at Aston Villa.

In attack, the controversial Saido Berahino features after another disappointing six months with Stoke.

Karim Ansarifard is having little impact at Nottingham Forest, whilst the team is complete with Bakary Sako, who passed through West Brom without ever troubling Darren Moore’s selection.
