Aston Villa weighing up move for PL keeper if Man United target falls through

According to Club Call, Aston Villa are preparing a move for Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor if they fail to land Sam Johnstone this summer.
Sam Johnstone is currently Aston Villa’s number one and he is on loan from Manchester United with Villa extremely keen to sign him permanently.
Villa manager Steve Bruce, however, is lining up McGregor as a contingency plan in case a move for Johnstone doesn’t materialise.
Allan McGregor was a regular under Bruce at Hull City, starting all but two games as they won promotion last season.
But he has lost his place to Eldin Jakupovic and is third choice behind David Marshall at Hull this year.
The 35-year-old is currently on loan at Cardiff where he impressing but the Bluebirds do not have the budget to get him back next year.
Aston Villa have already scouted the Scotland international on a few occasions this year and could make a summer move if Johnstone doesn’t return.
