Aston Villa take on Fulham in the play-off final, with a spot in England’s top flight for the victors up for grabs.

Steve Bruce’s side ended the season in fourth place, securing their spot in the prestigious play-off places with games to spare, but it all comes down to the final game of the season.

Having narrowly beaten Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough, they are likely to into the final as underdogs. But, the Claret and Blue are will certainly have winning on their mind.

Whatever the outcome of the Championship play-off final, Steve Bruce will be looking to strengthen their side, whether the Villans will be playing their football in the Championship or Premier League next season.

So, here are five Premier League players who are a perfect fit at Villa Park.

Sam Johnstone played 47 matches in the Championship this season whilst on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has zero appearances for his parent club since signing his professional contract in 2011, and helped guide Aston Villa to a place in the play-off final.

The permanent signing of Johnstone could not only be a good move for next season, but also one for the future as his stock is only going to rise.

Declan Rice has been involved in 26 matches in the Premier League this season for West Ham United.

The 19-year-old has a lot of potential, and in Steve Bruce’s side, could fulfil that. But, he needs the opportunity for regular first team football.

The Republic of Ireland international was named runner up for Hammer of the year this season, but isn’t likely to start next season, making him a perfect candidate as a replacement for John Terry.

Much like Sam Johnstone, Josh Onomah spent this season on loan at Villa Park, and Steve Bruce should be considering a permanent move for the youngster.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Villa in August 2017, and netted his first goal for the club the same month in a 1-1 draw against Bristol City.

Onomah played 39 times for the Claret and Blue Army during this campaign, and should be in a Villa shirt next season.

Harry Wilson spent this season on loan at Hull City, and has already been linked with a move to Villa Park.

The 21-year-old winger, who is on the books at Liverpool, has never made a senior first team appearance for the Merseyside team, and Steve Bruce should be looking to add him to his arsenal.

The Welsh international made 17 appearances as a Tiger this season, scoring eight goals and contributing with three assists.

Jerome Sinclair didn’t start a single match this season for Watford, making five appearances off the bench in all competitions.

In desperate need of game time, and a likely small transfer fee on him, the 21-year-old Englishman could be a good move for the Villans.

With a high potential, somebody needs to take a punt on the youngster, and the Claret and Blue Army could be the ones to do it.
