According to the Daily Mirror’s live blog (24/7, 14:07), Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo this summer.
Ojo is allowed to leave Anfield on-loan this summer, as he looks to gain some valuable experience, which looks unlikely to be handed to him at Anfield.
Villa are the latest team to enter the race to sign Ojo, with Steve Bruce keen to add the 20-year-old to his new look squad this summer.
The Sky Bet Championship outfit face competition from their direct rivals for Ojo’s signature, with Middlesbrough, Fulham and Derby County also monitoring the winger’s situation.
Newcastle United are also interested in the Liverpool youngster, with a report in The Sun claiming the Premier League club were preparing a £10m bid for the England under-20 international.
Ojo has a lack of experience in English football, having made just 43 senior appearances since his debut in 2015.
The 20-year-old has featured on 13 occasions for Liverpool, including eight times in the Premier League, whilst also enduring two difficult loan spells away from Anfield.
Ojo spent time with Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship, making a combined total of 30 appearances for the two clubs, failing to seriously impress and scoring just three goals.
