Aston Villa will receive a cash boost from any potential transfer involving Adama Traore this summer.

The 22-year-old Middlesbrough star is attracting plenty of interest this summer, and according to the Birmingham Mail, Villa will receive a windfall from any sale.

Traore moved from Villa Park to Middlesbrough in the summer of 2016, with Villa inserting a hefty sell-on clause in the deal that saw him move to the Riverside Stadium.

According to a report from Arab News, PSG are interested in taking Traore on board ahead of next season, with the French champions looking at different possibilities of completing a deal.

Traore, who reportedly has a £18m release clause in his contract, is also attracting Premier League interest, with Chelsea and Newcastle United credited with an interest in the ex-Barcelona flyer.

Last season in the Championship Traore was influential as Boro competed for promotion.

The winger made 36 appearances in the league, returning five goals and a further 10 assists, as Tony Pulis led Boro to fifth and the play-offs.

Traore couldn’t help Boro past his former side in the play-off semi-finals, however, with Villa beating Boro 1-0 on aggregate.

The Verdict

It is no secret that Villa’s failure to win the play-off final has left them in a vulnerable financial position this summer.

Receiving any sort of cash from Traore’s sale would be a boost for Villa this summer and will mean a great deal to Dr Tony Xia.

With so many clubs interested in Traore, and still a while to go in the window, it’s hard to see a transfer happening anytime soon.
