Nottingham Forest could be boosted this weekend by the return of midfielder Henri Lansbury, who is set to perform a dramatic U-turn and make himself available for selection for the Championship outfit.

The Forest skipper is almost certain to leave the City Ground during this transfer window, with the Nottingham Post reporting that Aston Villa have offered the former Arsenal man more than £40,000 per-week to switch to the West Midlands.

The Reds are not prepared to smash their own wage structure to keep Lansbury at the club and with the player out of contract in the summer, the £3.5 million offered by Villa looks like good business.

The recently sacked Philippe Montanier had claimed that Lansbury was not in the right frame of mind to feature for Forest in games against Wigan and Birmingham, although the Reds’ number ten has been pictured training with the rest of the squad on the club’s official website since the Frenchman’s departure.

Lansbury would offer the Reds a timely boost if he does make himself available this Saturday, with the team set to face Bristol City at the City Ground in a huge six-pointer down at the bottom of the league.

Academy boss Gary Brazil will take charge of the game at the weekend and he would undoubtedly relish the chance to use Lansbury in such an important game for the club.

Nottingham Forest fans, would you welcome Lansbury back into the fold? Should he be kept on the fringes instead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!!!
