The January transfer window is getting closer and closer and we're looking forward to seeing who exactly is going to sign who.

In the Championship, it is normally very busy as the right business can propel a side into the top six whilst the wrong moves can leave you fighting relegation.

There's going to be some good transfer battles to come, then, and it would seem as though Jack Marriott of Peterborough United is going to be at the centre of one.

The Posh striker has impressed ever since his move from Luton Town and he is one of the top scorers in League One at the moment.

He could be in line for a move up a division already, then, with Sunderland, Aston Villa and QPR all reportedly keen on the forward - as per the Daily Mail.

Certainly, all three clubs could do with Marriott. Villa are desperately short of fit strikers whilst Sunderland have had to rely on Lewis Grabban alone.

QPR, meanwhile, haven't had that one leading scorer with Ian Holloway yet to really find a striker he wants to play every week.

All of them could do with Marriott, then, and he could have some big decisions to make.

The Verdict

It's easy to be a fan of Marriott's talents as a striker as he looks like a real talent.

All three sides could do with him but you'd perhaps argue he'd excel most at either QPR or Sunderland where he could be the leading man.
