Aston Villa are finally beginning to turn things around in the Championship and plenty of that can be credited to new manager Steve Bruce.

His side are now unbeaten in five, having won three and drawn two as they race to climb the Championship table.

Prior to Bruce's arrival, it had been a horrendous campaign where very little had changed from the doomed Premier League season from last time out.

But the former Birmingham City boss seems to have settled the squad and for the first time in a long while, they're playing good football.

However, one man that we feel deserves a shot in the first-team is Andre Green, who has been in fantastic form for the impressive Aston Villa U23's side.

Granted, Jonathan Kodjia has somewhat began to get the goals in but with Ross McCormack and Gabby Agbonlahor still not looking as good as necessary, we think Bruce should give Green a chance.

Not only do we think he should be given a shot in the first-team, we think he could be destined for the Premier League and here's THREE reasons why...

His academy progress shows superb development

It's easy to dismiss academy prospects based on their pre-senior statistics but when it comes to Andre Green, there is little to argue about in the slightest.

He made his U21 debut as a 15-year-old back in 2014 whilst he made his senior debut in March 2016 as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.

To be making such strides as just an 18-year-old is truly admirable and hints at the progress which could be to come.

Villa fans want him in the first-team

It takes a matter of minutes to take a look on the Villa forums to know that they want this man in the first-team.

They were calling for his name last season as their Premier League status was flushed down the drain and even now, they're calling for his call-up to the senior squad.

He's a man with plenty of goals in the junior ranks but what he needs now is a chance to impress in the first-team.

If you've got the backing of the supporters, then you're already half-way there.

His past managers have tipped him for the top

The fact that both Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde tipped Green for the top, even when times were tough down at Villa Park is a testament to his quality.

Garde once said of the 18-year-old: "I saw he has a physical ability that makes him very close to the standard I require for Premier League football," and despite what you thought of him as a manager, that is praise indeed.

And you've got to remember Villa were back in the Premier League then and Garde was never a man to mince his words.

He's got backing from the supporters, past managers and is looking good in the U23's.

Green could very much go onto be a future Premier League star.
