Aston Villa are still paying forgotten man Micah Richards, and will continue to do so until 2019.

That is the news emerging from a report from the Birmingham Mail, which details the staggering wages and contract terms the cash struck Villans are still paying the former Manchester City defender.

Richards last played for the club over 500 days ago, and has become something of a target for fans who are growing tired of the club paying a player who is offering nothing to proceedings at Villa Park at the moment.

The former England man has had a spell with Fiorentina in Italy, but once again failed to impress, and he is now back with Villa, where he will stay until the end of this season unless a resolution can be reached with the club and player.

However, it is not all Richards' fault, with the report detailing bad injuries as the biggest reason for Richards not forming a career at Villa Park, while the report also claims Steve Bruce is happy to have him around the place to help with youngsters due to his professional attitude and off the field influence.

The report concludes by saying the club expect Richards to see out his contract with the club.

Villa fans, what do you think? What have you made of Richards' time with the club? Let us know your thoughts!
