Aston Villa’s Jordan Ayew could be set to join Premier League strugglers Swansea City, reports the Express and Star.

The deal discussed involves a swap deal for the forward, which would see Mo Barrow and Neil Taylor head to Steve Bruce’s side.

Villa value Ayew, who has scored just three goals this season, at £9m.

Ayew joined the Midlands’ club in the summer of 2015 and was unable to help his side avoid relegation from the Premier League last season.

The Ghanaian’s older brother, Andre, previously had a spell with Swansea during the 2015/16 season, before joining West Ham United ahead of this campaign.

Bruce has been active this transfer window with goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joining the club earlier in the month.

Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury arrived to bolster Bruce’s midfield options before Birkir Bjarnason also joined the club.

Last week also saw Villa raid Championship rivals Barnsley, securing the signings of Conor Hourihane and James Bree.

Bruce’s side are currently 13th in the Sky Bet Championship, nine-points outside the play-off places.

They travel to Griffin Park on Tuesday evening as they face Brentford.
