As quoted by Aston Villa's official Twitter account, Albert Adomah has praised returning team-mate Jonathan Kodjia, nicknaming the Ivorian striker ‘Jimmy Danger’.

Kodjia has been excellent since his return from a long-term ankle injury which required surgery, and all of those associated with the club will be delighted to see him back to full-fitness and showing immediate signs of the form he showed prior to his injury.

Villa have been in excellent form in recent weeks having lost none in their lost six league matches, placing the Villans on the cusp of the playoff places.

And Adomah is a big fan of Kodjia, with him saying:

The Birmingham based side travel to Staffordshire to take on Burton Albion this evening, and Adomah will hope old ‘Jimmy Danger’ will continue his excellent form, and continue to be the key component of Bruce’s attack.

The Verdict

Concerns always exist when a player is sidelined with a long-term lay-off, but Kodjia has showed no signs of regression, and looks just as good as he did before the injury.

Match-fit and sharp, Kodjia’s return is an absolute blessing to the club, and it won’t be long before the player is in double figures for the season.

Villa were touted as one of the favourites for promotion at the start of the season following their summer recruitment, but Kodjia is really the star man at the club.

Keep him fit and firing, and Villa will be there or thereabouts by May next year.

Villa fans, can Kodjia fire you to promotion this season?
