Aston Villa have come back down to Earth with a slight bump in their last couple of games in the Championship.

The Villans were really starting to motor on as they went seven games without dropping a point to move into second in the league and promotion race.

Since, though, they have lost to Fulham and drawn with Preston and that has allowed Cardiff City to move into second, four points clear.

Of course, there isn't any need to panic right now with their still being plenty of time left in the season and Mile Jedinak has said spirits remain high, as well as calling on the side to respond.

As quoted by the club's official Twitter account, he said:

For sure, there's no need for Villa's players to get too down about the last couple of results because they know what they can do when they're on form.

With Cardiff looking strong at the moment, though, they can't afford to have too many more slip-ups.

The Verdict

Villa clearly remain in a strong position and the players still remain confident in their abilities to go up.

After the setbacks against both Fulham and Preston, though, they need to get back to winning ways as they take on Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

Let's see how they fare.
