Aston Villa got back to winning ways against Fulham on Saturday with a 2-1 success at Villa Park.

The win put Steve Bruce's men into fifth, a lofty position considering the start of the season they had.

Therefore, there were a lot of happy faces at Villa Park and that included Jonathan Kodjia and club legend Ian Taylor.

The former midfielder shared a snap of the pair on Twitter and the ex-Bristol City man responded with an appreciative message to Taylor, who played over 250 games for Villa.

Villa have now recorded five wins in six games and sit just five points from the automatic positions.

It's a remarkable turnaround given that at the end of August Steve Bruce was facing severe speculation surrounding his future.

However, his team have responded and that has coincided with the return from injury of Kodjia.

Although, he only has one goal to his name in seven appearances this season, he has given Villa a real presence up front and helped with their good run. Next up, is a trip to St. Andrew's for the highly anticipated derby with Birmingham, which would be the ideal venue for the Ivorian to rediscover his scoring touch.

The Verdict

It will be great for Villa fans to see their star striker and a club legend together, especially on the back of a win.

Jonathan Kodjia has been a key man for Steve Bruce since he took over and the team have picked up significantly since his return.

If they can keep that run going with another three points on Sunday in the massive local derby, then there will be even bigger smiles for everyone associated with the club!
