Aston Villa left back Jordan Amavi has confirmed he has been placed on the transfer list, reports the Birmingham Mail.
The Frenchman was a £9m signing from Nice a few seasons ago, but after a solid enough start to life at Villa Park, serious injury curtailed his progress and he has now confirmed to the Mail that he has been placed on the transfer list by the club.
Amavi is quoted as saying: “We spoke with Aston Villa, I was upfront with them, the club were in return. If I have to leave, there will be no problem. I have ambitions. I want to play in Europe, for a club that play in all the competitions.
“I’ve been placed on the transfer list”
Amavi will no doubt be attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe’s top leagues, and his transfer listing will alert plenty of clubs who are looking to recruit a new left back as part of their summer recruitment drive.
Villa had a poor season last time out, and manager Steve Bruce will be keen to move players on and bring in fresh faces as he looks to guide the Villans to promotion next term.
Villa fans, what do you think to this news? Glad to see him leave? Let us know!
