The 2016/17 season has seen the emergence of some talented youngsters in the Sky Bet Championship.

The second division teams are often known for producing some excellent youngsters from their academy, and giving an opportunity to some Premier League players to gain some much needed experience on-loan.

Looking at the most recent England squad, there are a number of players who have at some point in their career played in the Football League, John Stones, Ross Barkley and Dele Alli, to name a few.

England’s first-choice striker, Harry Kane, played for a handful of clubs in the Football League, which helped him to further his development.

There has been a number of outstanding young performers in the Championship this season, including Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham, who has spent the campaign on-loan with Bristol City.

Ben Brereton and Ronaldo Vieira have suffered contrasting campaigns with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United respectively, but both have impressed when given opportunities.

Here we take a look at THREE of the Championship’s youngsters who have proved they will have a big future in football…

Izzy Brown

Brown has spent time on-loan from Chelsea with two Championship clubs this season.

The 20-year old spent time with Rotherham United during the first-half of the season, where he found himself in the middle of a relegation battle, and is currently with Huddersfield Town, looking to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Brown’s ability has shone through at Huddersfield, with David Wagner getting the best out of the attacking midfielder.

Having bagged seven goals across the campaign and helping the Terriers to an unlikely promotion push, Brown has shown what a big future he will have in the game.

If Brown can continue his rate of development, he may become one of the lucky Chelsea youngsters to break into their first-team.

Ryan Sessegnon

Fulham’s left-back has enjoyed a magnificent breakthrough season in the Championship, helping the Cottagers to the brink of a Play-Off place.

Some of England’s biggest teams are reportedly monitoring Sessegnon’s development, and Fulham could face a battle to keep hold of the youngster.

Sessegnon recently impressed in Fulham’s 3-1 victory over league leaders Newcastle United, where he scored two vital goals.

The 16-year old’s ability in attack makes him standout as one of the Championship’s best full-backs.

Andre Green

Green has not featured as regularly as Brown or Sessegnon this season, but has impressed when he has for Aston Villa.

The winger has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Steve Bruce’s side, and recently earned praise from his manager for helping Villa turn their season around.

A recent injury halted Green’s impressive run in the Villa first-team, but regardless of his limited appearances, the winger has shown he has a bright future in the game.

The 2017/18 campaign could be huge for the 18-year old, as he may have a major role to play in helping Villa make it back to the Premier League.
