Aston Villa are enjoying a real turnaround in form since the arrival of Steve Bruce and if anything, they're only heading one way - up the Sky Bet Championship table.

After relieving former manager Roberto Di Matteo of his duties a mere three months into his spell at the club, Bruce has come in and seems to have transformed this Villa side.

He's a manager that has been here and done this before, with Birmingham City and Hull City just two of the sides he's helped take back to the Premier League.

But with such a big squad at his disposal, there is feeling amongst the Villa supporters that a couple of names in particular should be used in the first team more than they currently are.

So with that in mind, FootballLeagueWorld writer Hayden Atkins identifies TWO Villa players Bruce should promote to the first team as soon as possible...

Andre Green

18-year-old striker Andre Green had a proper taste of pre-season action this summer and earlier on in the season was given some game-time in the first team by Di Matteo.

And what it showed was that the pacey forward might have what it takes to make it in the first team in years to come.

He's still a diamond in the rough but, as we've seen with many a local lad in the past, sometimes it's a gamble worth taking.

Gabriel Agbonlahor

A real forgotten man in this Aston Villa side is Gabriel Agbonlahor, who has seriously struggled to get first team action this season.

But against Birmingham City last weekend, manager Bruce chucked the pacey forward on for the final twenty minutes, and it was clear to see why Agbonlahor could be of some use in this Villa side.

He's lightning quick, tough in the tackle and, at the moment, has a real point to prove too.

He's faced expulsion for months but now he has a really good chance to get back into the first-team fold.

He needs to take it with both hands.
