Aston Villa face a tough old summer this time around with the club looking to cut costs and reduce the wage bill in the process.

The Villans and manager Steve Bruce came within touching distance of a return to the Premier League only to see their dreams shattered by Fulham at Wembley in May this year.

Having gambled over the last two seasons with big spending and big name players, the result meant big implications for the club, who are now paying the price with owner Tony Xia actively looking to sell off the club amid the crisis.

However, Villa are still a big club and represent an attractive proposition for many players looking for a move to the Championship, and one player we think could fancy a move to Villa Park is £7.2m-rated Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

Ings returned to the first team at Anfield towards the end of last season and will no doubt be keen for a first team run in the coming season to rediscover the form he showed during his time with Burnley.

Villa, who are going to be looking for players on the cheap or on loan deals, could well see Ings as an excellent piece of business to fire them towards the top of the Championship.

A player with bags of ability and a point to prove, Ings could well be an excellent addition for the Villans if Bruce can convince Jurgen Klopp to let him leave.

Villa fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
