Aston Villa certainly haven't had the start to the season that they would have liked.

However, under the guidance of new manager Steve Bruce the resurgence is under way and the currently find themselves sitting in 14th place after picking up just 4 wins from the opening 16 league games.

The start to the season was far from ideal but many of the Villa faithful will still be very optimistic that the team will achieve at least a play-off spot this season, as they certainly have the players in the squad capable of doing so.

Former Birmingham boss, Bruce, will no doubt be looking to put his own stamp in the squad in January.

Bruce may consider taking a dip into the Scottish market, and in particular the champions Celtic.

This article is going to take a look at TWO players that Villa could potentially poach from Celtic this January.....

Kieran Tierney

Young full-back Kieran Tierney is a real hot prospect and is someone that all at Celtic Park are extremely excited about.

Tierney rose through the youth ranks at Celtic and despite being just the tender age of 19, he has already made over 50 appearances for the club, scoring just the once.

Tierney is a willing runner and is always providing the offer of an overlap to his winger, he is excellent with the ball at his feet and is also a brilliant crosser of the ball.

The 19-year-old has already received 2 full senior caps for the Scottish national team and looks to be huge part of their future.

It would certainly be a coup of Villa could acquire the defender's services.

Tom Rogic

One player that Steve Bruce could look to poach from Celtic is impressive Australian Tom Rogic.

Last season, Rogic made 39 appearances for The Bhoys in all competitions, netting a very respectable 10 goals in the process.

Rogic is not blessed with the greatest pace, but what he lacks in pace he makes up for with an excellent footballing brain and technical ability to match.

Rogic has continued his good form into the current campaign and has already netted 7 times for club in just 19 appearances.

The midfielder is tall, strong and is someone who can really dominate the midfield battle and dictate the tempo of play.

He is also a vital cog in the Australian national team and has been capped 22 times by the Socceroos, bagging 4 goals in the process.

At just the age of 23, Rogic has plenty of time to progress and develop as a footballer and that is something that a move to England would certainly help him with.
