Aston Villa are currently undergoing a bit of a mini resurgence under new manager Steve Bruce.

Unbeaten since they former Man United defender took over, the Villans have reason for optimism as they can finally look forward to a play off charge. Sacking Roberto Di Matteo could turn out to be one of the best things the club has done, with Bruce as experienced as they come when it comes to getting promotion from the Championship.

Villa spent a small fortune in the summer on new players, and managed to keep hold of some of the better ones from last season too.

Steve Bruce though will know that more might be needed in his squad if they are to continue their good form, and one place he might want to look is League One, which holds a plethora of talented players.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor takes a look at TWO League One stars Aston Villa could sign up in January...

Ademola Lookman

The young Charlton forward is one of the hottest properties outside of the Premier League, and is surely destined for a move sooner rather than later.

Lookman has pace and excellent movement for a player his age, and shows an intelligence to his game which suggests he would be comfortable at a higher level.

Villa would be wise to look to sign a player like Lookman. If  he becomes available in January, expect Villa and others to swoop for the red hot forward.

Zach Clough

Long touted as a player of immense potential, Clough has bided his time and stuck with Bolton Wanderers so far in his career.

The attacking midfielder is a real talent, and shows excellent balance, game sense, and creativity in his play.

One of Bolton's main men at such a young age, Clough will definitely go on to have a career in the game at a higher level, and Steve Bruce and Aston Villa might be just the combination to bring out the best in him.

Villa fans, what do you think to these two? Would you take them? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
