Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout could finally be on his way out of Villa Park after beginning talks with Real Betis, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The French midfielder has had an underwhelming time in England to say the least since making the move to Villa Park two seasons ago, and now looks to finally be getting his wish to move away from the Villans and start afresh in the Spanish league.

Villa manager Steve Bruce has been keen to move some players on this summer as he looks to shrink a squad which has inflated over the last couple of years with players on big money, but who are simply not achieving to the level they should be.

Veretout is one of these players it would seem, and a move to Betis might be the best thing for the player and the club.

The midfielder arrived at Villa from Nantes with a glowing reputation, but struggled in his first season as the club were relegated from the Premier League. Last season saw him move to St Etienne on loan, where he impressed the French side.

However, they have yet to stump up the cash for the permanent transfer of Veretout, and Betis now look likely to swoop with another loan deal.

Villa fans, what do you think? Happy to see him go? Let us know!
