Aston Villa set to take a blow by missing out on targeted pair

Birmingham Mail confirm Villa lose out on the hunt to sign two appealing prospects – Robbie Brady of Norwich City, as well as Aaron Tshibola from Reading FC.

After the lack of creativity from midfield last season for Villa, it was blatant that some restructuring was required to improve the clubs attacking midfielder slots.

From the occurrence of this, Di Matteo attempted to sign two possible stars for the disheartened Aston Villa side. However, Di Matteo’s side took another stab to the back by losing out on these two potential stars.

Firstly, he indicated interest towards Robbie Brady.

The 24-year old winger shone at the Euros by taking Republic of Ireland to the knockout stages.

His significance towards Ireland triggered various clubs including Villa, battling it out for his signature. Although, Leicester City are now looking likely favourites to sign the Irish International.

The second player Di Matteo made enquiries about was Aaron Tshibola.

Despite being more defensive than Brady, it is no question that the 21-year old midfielder has impressed during his early career, showing off his attacking and defensive attributes.

Unluckily for Villa, it has been recently announced that Tshibola’s future remains at Reading for the meantime.

Villa fans…. What do you make of this news? Are you gutted that you won’t see these 2 potential stars at your club?
