The 21-year old has been a mainstay for the Ligue 2 outfit, and has missed just one game for the French club this season, playing an integral role in their push for promotion.
The Villans were looking to sign the central defender in the summer, when then-manager Steve Bruce reportedly went to meet Moukoudi ahead of a potential move to Villa Park, in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
But reports from France Football now claim that Villa are “still hoping” to land the highly-rated defender, with Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg also interested in signing the 21-year old.
It’s no secret that Villa boss Dean Smith is keen to bolster his defensive options in January, having already been linked with Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Kortney Hause.
The Villans have conceded 40 goals in the league this season, and currently sit 10th in the Sky Bet Championship table – five points off the play-off places.
Moukoudi looks like a really talented defender and could be exactly what Villa need.
Dean Smith has obviously seen something in Moukoudi that Steve Bruce did too – he looks to have a really bright future ahead of him.
Villa are desperate for defenders and Moukoudi would certainly add some real strength to the Villa squad.
