It would appear to be a good time to be an Aston Villa supporter at the moment with the club well in the mix for the promotion places in the Championship.

First looks wrapped up by Wolves, of course, but Villa are leading the race for second place and so the good times might be on their way back to B6.

For sure, things are more positive than they have been in recent years at the club and it looks as though the youth prospects at the Midlands side are looking up too.

We've seen the likes of Keinan Davis and Callum O'Hare break through this year and now it looks as though a couple of young goalkeepers will get the chance to step up sooner rather than later.

As per the Birmingham Mail, Matija Sarkic and Viktor Johansson are thought to be progressing nicely and so they could be challenging for the senior squad in the coming seasons.

The Verdict

Villa clearly have some good young players coming through and this pair seem to be the latest.

They've still got a way to go but it seems as though enough has been seen from them to be kept on at the club for a bit longer yet.
