Championship promotion hopefuls Aston Villa are looking at paying manager Steve Bruce £2m if they do indeed decide to sack their man in charge.

That is according to Alan Nixon, who claims via his Twitter account that the £2m fee is what the club will need to part ways with if they decide to move on Bruce in the coming days.

The Villans have recently been injected with fresh investment from Egyptian owners, and there has been rumours over the weekend that the new party in charge are planning on making a move to bring Thierry Henry to the club to replace Bruce.

However, with finances still a hot topic for the club despite fresh money being pumped in, £2m will be a hefty pill to swallow if the club do indeed try to move Bruce on.

Bruce came within one game of leading the Villans back to the Premier League last season , however, he is often criticised by fans for a perceived poor and dull style of play, and many Villa fans called for Bruce to leave during the last campaign.

The former Hull and Sheffield United manager will no doubt be keen to see out his deal with the club, and will feel hard done by if he is releived of his duties in the coming days.

Villa fans, what do you think? Would you pay Bruce off? Let us know in the comments!
