Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is preparing to make his move for experienced defender Robert Huth.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the Villans manager is keen to bring in a new defender after failing to land John Terry once more, and has identified giant defender Huth as the man he wants to sign to plug the gaps in his leaky defence.

Huth is out of contract at the moment and has been training with former club Stoke City in a bid to maintain his fitness, and he could well be interested in making a move to Villa Park as he looks for a final move in what has been quite the career for the German.

Formerly of Chelsea and Leicester City, Huth has been recognised as one of the most consistent big defenders in the top flight over the last few seasons, and a move into the Championship will be something which won't faze Huth.

Villa are looking to strengthen their defensive ranks after leaking four goals to Sheffield United last week, while they have also allowed Tommy Elphick to move to Hull City on a season long loan deal.

Villa fans, what do you think? Can Huth fit in? Let us know in the comments!
