It has been quite the whirlwind week for Aston Villa, ahead of a trip to London to take on Millwall this Saturday.

The Midlands side are 15th in the Championship after 11 matches and have picked up one point from their last two games

A 1-1 draw away to Bristol City was followed up by a 3-3 draw at home to Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Villa were 2-0 up before a spectacular collapse saw then 3-2 down. A 91st minute Yannick Bolasie goal rescued a point for the hosts before Glenn Whelan missed a penalty in the 97th minute to win it.

In this next round-up, we take a quick look at all things Aston Villa from the past week.

During the draw with Preston when the league’s bottom side restored parity, a somewhat bizarre moment occurred in the match.

A person in the crowd expressed their displeasure by throwing a cabbage at the Aston Villa manager.

It is safe to say that with the extreme displeasure shown by one fan, others took to Twitter to express their annoyance with the club’s current plight.

That would be the end of Bruce’s tenure as the following day, the fans for their wish and their manager was sacked.

Bruce had been in charge for two years and guided the club to a play-off final the year before but is now out of a job, to many fans’ delight.

It hasn’t been the best 24-hours for Bruce, being pelted with a cabbage before getting removed from his post.

Jack Grealish would be one of the first to offer his thanks to the former Villa boss as he took to Twitter to thank the manager.

It looks as if the Villa midfielder is not overly impressed with the decision, but the search for a successor begins in earnest.

David Moyes is the current favourite for the job with a list of runners and riders for the vacant position here.
