According to the Birmingham Mail, Jordan Amavi is still set to leave Aston Villa this summer, despite his proposed move to Sevilla falling through earlier this week.

Amavi was set to move to Sevilla for £8m, but the La Liga outfit pulled out of a deal to sign the left-back, claiming he had failed his medical in Spain.

That accusation left Villa furious, with Dr Tony Xia publically criticising Sevilla via his personal Twitter account.

Despite returning to training with Villa, and even featuring in the club’s pre-season victory over Telford United, Amavi will still be sold by Xia this summer.

As Villa have always stated this summer, Amavi will only be sold if their valuation of the player is met, but they will not stand in his way when that happens.

Amavi is one player that will be sacrificed by Steve Bruce this summer, as he looks to bolster his own transfer kitty with Villa battling against Financial Fair Play.

Amavi arrived at Villa ahead of the 2015/16 campaign, and the Championship outfit are keen to recoup the majority of the reported £10m they paid two-years ago.

The 23-year-old has made 48 senior appearances for Villa, but struggled for opportunities last season following the arrival of Neil Taylor during the January transfer window.
