Aston Villa have rejected a £25 million bid for French defender Jordan Amavi, according to owner Tony Xia.
Notorious Tweeter Xia made he claims after being asked the whereabouts of the defender by a supporter, he responded “Don’t bother reading this. I can tell we have rejected an offer of £25M for @@JordanAmavi He will grow bigger at @AVFCOfficial”.
The former Nice man played in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Burton Albion this weekend and continues to be a big part of Steve Bruce’s continued resurgence at Villa Park.
And with results slowly but surely building up in the Midlands, Amavi is the sort of player who the club will want to hang onto as they look to get back into the first-team at the first attempt.
Next up for Aston Villa is Leeds United at home, where they will hope to avenge a 2-0 defeat suffered earlier on this season.
Villa fans, do you want to keep ahold of Amavi or would you take a big-money offer for the defender? Leave your thoughts in the comments below…
