Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson says that Aston Villa have shown Premier League quality in the Championship this season.

The Bolton boss was speaking to the club's media at his press conference ahead of the Championship clash with Villa tomorrow at the University of Bolton Stadium, and was quick to praise his side's opponents.

Villa extended their remarkable winning run to eight matches at the weekend, with a win over top-six rivals Bristol City.

Dean Smith's side are currently fifth in the Championship table and will be looking for another win tomorrow to help cement their position in the play-off places.

Meanwhile, Bolton are 23rd in the league table, ten points from safety, with just four matches to play and desperately need a win to increase their fading chances of avoiding the drop.

Both teams will be in action again on Monday, with Bolton travelling to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers and Villa hosting Millwall.

The Verdict

Parkinson is right to praise Villa and he knows that his side will be in for a tough game tomorrow.

Villa are building some serious momentum at the moment and have shown Premier League quality with some of the football they have produced this season.

It would be no surprise at all to see them return to the Premier League via the play-offs next month.
