Swindon Town midfielder Massimo Luongo is attracting interest from Premier League side Aston Villa, according to shoot.co.uk.
The midfielder who played in the sensational 5-5 draw in the play-off semi-final against Sheffield United on Monday ,was the subject of a £1.9 million bid in January from an unnamed Turkish side and now the website understands that the West Midlands side are interested in taking him to Villa Park.
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood was at the play-off game on Monday night watching the midfielder and according to sources close to the player, Sherwood is a big fan having watched him progress through the ranks at former side Tottenham Hotspurs.
Luongo is expected to move on in the summer even if Swindon do manage to get promoted into the Championship and after two years of increasing development in the third tier of English football, the Villa boss is ready to offer the 2015 Asian Cup Player of the Tournament a chance in the big leagues.
As of yet, no fee has been reported but an offer of around £3million could be enough to tempt Town into selling one of their best assets.
